In the mid sixties (I was 11 or 12ish) my parents used to take me to 2 small jazz clubs in Hartford, CT. The Hofbrau House and the Heublein. These were small bars that featured small combo jazz groups. In those days, parents were allowed to bring their kids into a non-food establishment.

One stand out performer was a trombonist (valve trombone) named Chick Chicetti. It's what led me to play trombone. Thanks mom and dad.
